Media related work is beside medical work the central aspect of our network. This work will include not only documenting our ongoing work and the general humanitarian effort, but also going on short missions to document, in real time, people’s self-defense efforts, and the ongoing local and regional changes in Rojava through photographs and short reports. The people handling this aspect of our work are experienced in photography who already have, from the last trip, a vast collection of photographs. These are documenting many aspects of life in Rojava from the last parts of the official war against ISIS all the way down to daily life in the cities and rural communities in the peace time that followed.
But surely the most valuable aspect of this particular work will be ensuring that cases of war-crimes, violent attacks on civilians, children, aid workers, volunteers, community leaders etc. These incidents must be documented, compiled, and reported to organizations tasked with handling the legal aspects of state-backed war crimes and human rights violations.
